Re Banff and Lake Louise, they both have very famous hotels ( Fairmont ) which you will recognise from a lot of films

Sydney, Leroy, thanks gents. Not hiring a car so not too worried about parking. The hol company allocates a hotel and we are at the Aspen Lodge which seems fairly central. One of the included Banff excursions includes Lake Louise and that does look spectacular. Will look at the Huskies as I quite fancied that. On the Mountaineer we decided on Silver Leaf as Gold is far more expensive. If you know of any nice restaurants in Banff could you whomail me if you remember them, quite a few when we look and would be good to know of two good ones. Cheers.

Off to Perth (not Scotland) in a few weeks then in May doing a weekend in Delft (via Rotterdam) to use up a Eurostar voucher they gave me for abandoning me in Belgium on the way to Amsterdam last year to see the Vermeer exhibition. Went to Lisbon last year so doing a trip to Porto in late May. Nothing lined up beyond June as may need eye surgery at some point so keeping some days up my sleeve.

Glad you took it in the spirit it was meant, Boots!
Depending on circumstances, I would like to go to Europe for maybe 12 nights when the Euro's is on, couple of different cities with 2/3 games on every day, pubs full, you can't go wrong. Probably wouldn't even bother with the UK.

Zico, I went to Alberta last year as my sister lives in Calgary
Banff is great but gets incredibly busy and there is literally nowhere to park. Make sure you go to Lake Louise, stunning place
As for my hols, off to Marrakech in 3 weeks, been before, absolutely love it there
Mini cruise in May to Belgium and Holland then nothing else planned as we are moving in the summer

Did the RM in 2019, Gold class, bit pricey but very nice, had 2 days in Banff beforehand which was great, then did a 10-night Alaska Cruise on Cunard Queen Elizabeth, Excursion are very pricey in Alaska, the dog one in Ketchikan though was good, got to look at the Huskys and all about how they work them in the winter, The Bear sanctuary in Sikta was also good, but for the most par we just got off and walked around the local town, did the Crab thing, was expensive and not sure its worth it, not the biggest fan of Crab, too much work for not much meat but the Mrs loved it.
Some great Beers in Alaska and the Red Dog Saloon in Juneu is good for an afternoon drinking and listening to music.
Next trip for me is around Southern Japan and Taiwan in 2 weeks' time with Holland America Cruise line, then only back for a few weeks and going to the UK, hadnt planned it but family issues call.

Exile. It wasn't my first idea of a holiday but my ex and I are still good friends and I know she always wanted to go so we thought we would go for it. Looking forward to it. Three nights in Banff, Mountaineer, stop over in Jasper, back on the Mountaineer, night in Vancouver then Celebrity Cruise to Alaska. Then one night in Vancouver again. Only problem is deciding on cruise excursions. Already have two in Banff but do I go for all you can eat crab or risk getting mauled by a Grizzly!

zico - we did the Rocky Mountaineer a few years ago - a bit weird but worth doing, though I actually preferred driving around the Rockies. The scenery and wildlife are absolutely stunning.
Fancied a bit more scenery and wildlife this year so we're going to Mull and Iona in early June, before the midges get too bad.
